The real question is why do people keep buying tomatoes that are so tasteless?
Because they think that red = healthy? If you find out, let me know.
One thing I learned watching Alton Brown on the Food Network--never refrigerat a tomato. He said it turns off the flavor, and it will not come back when/if the tomato is warmed up again. Enzymes or such, IIRC.
