Neanderthals Paddled Their Own Canoes

Archaeological evidence from the Greek islands makes a strong circumstantial case that Neanderthal people had watercraft of some kind, if only just dugout canoes. (Photo does not depict actual Neanderthals.)

    I for one am bitterly disappointed that such an august journal as The New Scientist would stoop to using a reconstruction rather than dispatching a photographer to record the paddlings of real Neanderthals. Is onting sacred?
