Nature and spirituality

A story in today's Denver Post about the growing number of people in some Colorado counties without a formal religious affiliation also drops this nugget:

"A growing number of Westerners finds spirituality in nature. [Oregon sociology professor Mark] Shibley, who has studied that trend, said nature spirituality is to Generation X and Gen-Y what New Age was to baby boomers."

I take it that means that 'Nature Spirituality' is anathema to Gen X+Yers. Too bad; if they don't appreciate it, they risk losing it. For an interesting and informative site on Nature Spirituality, visit Nature-Centered Spirituality, a site that helps define the term and offers good links to other sites of similar ilk and interest. Isn't the pagan spirituality closely aligned to this spirituality, too?
