Locally (southern New England) they usually get tagged as the "Eastern Coyote".
They're all over the place here in Connecticut, presumably because we have more deer per square mile than just about anywhere, and half of it is suburban, thus mostly unhuntable.
I've seen several that were German Shepard sized, and it seems the larger critters are becoming the norm.

thanks for that lead. had heard of coydogs but not coywolves. now need to learn how far south they range.
