I was afflicted with AOH over ten years ago, in with that exact etiology, plus the huge risk factor "Environmentalist moves to Pennsylvania and looks at the forest." I always seem to be about ten years ahead of these things.
Just heard on the radio that canning home-grown food is now "in" with the 20-something crowd. Really? So I'm hip now?
Don't even get me started about the poultry.
I can confidently prognosticate that in about ten years everyone is going to keep sheep and dairy goats, start a meat rabbit colony, brew their own cider, make cheese, root cellar, make braided rag rugs, and learn tractor maintenance.
Thanks for the mention, Chas!
As Heather points out, the early wave of this particular outbreak of AOH came about a decade back. I was a couple years behind, starting about eight years ago.
